Jazz

Where did Jazz come from?

Jazz origins came from New Orleans. It has a unique mixture of West African , Blues, and Ragtime . It is one of the first genre that composites a huge melting pot of different genres.  It became popular in the 20th century.  It was a new style of music that brought traditions from West Africa and Europe. Jazz is also known for its unique  very proactive sexual dancing. Artist such as Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, and Dizzy Gillespie are just a few who broke the racial barrier and became famous stars of Jazz. Because of Jazz different genres didn't have such a struggle trying to gain a broader variety of audience.
