Eyes on the picture box

So my grandmother said that she really can't remember when she owned a tv. But she did explain to me about the tv's that you use to have to crank up in order to watch. She was staying with her grandmother at the time and they had to use a handle to crank up the television in order for it to work. She did say that her and her family would sit around an watch it but it wasn't a nessecities  because they had so many other things to worry about such as chores, school , and taking care of the family.
